A world travel guide generated by GPT3 from back in the day. LLMs these days are of course much better, but that's the fun! This is an almost historic document to the true hallucinations GPT3 had. It all sounds convincing and it is almost all not true.
On face value yet another demo of the powers of GPT3.
It is that of course - primed with just a handfull touristy descriptions of cities, GPT3 spits out
a travel guide for the world.
There's a bit of a twist though. We also ask GPT3 for each city to spit out the names of the highlights
of that city and then for each highlight, to generate a description. This works wonderfully well for
popular attractions but when you start exploring and drill down to the lesser know places, you reach
the limits of GPT3 considerable knowledge; but much like a human, rather than admitting it doesn't know
about these places, it starts to make stuff up.
Convincingly so! Often you have to have some detailed knowledge to catch it in a lie since it usually
cleverly uses actual facts to constructs something entirely believable.
